Tanner's Flash Mob birthday!

Tanner is a teenager now, lucky for us Provo planned a Flash Mob to help celebrate.  We met at our house for cake and then went to the Peaks Ice Arena.
We chose the red team and did some lovely face painting to cheer on our team, "Roadkill". (Imagine our delight when Tanner told us the team name!)
We had to wait around for a while before sneaking into the hockey arena.
Don't we look lovely?  Max thoroughly enjoyed the open paint bottles and had a grand time!
This is how we waited for the players to make their appearance.  When they entered the arena we went wild and surprised them all.  This was a local adult league championship game and they were shocked to have fans.
"Roadkill" prevailed and won the huge, Stanley Cup style trophy.  All of the boys lost interest in the game after about 1 1/2 periods and went to the portals to beat each other silly with their noise sticks.  It was a great time and I've always wanted to be part of a flash mob, luckily we didn't have to dance for this one!  Happy Birthday Tanner!

While Zane played in his first high school football game we 4 ditched out and went to the Capitol Theater to see Wicked!  It is directly behind the kids.  We had dessert at this cafe.
We then enjoyed the play and missed having the rest of the family with us.  What to do when I purchased these tickets months ago and found out the football schedule one week ago!?  Sorry Zane!

Michael & Zane are the latest to enter Timpview High School, here they are on their Freshmen Academy Day. ( I snuck this photo so as not to embarass them!)  This meant two 1st days of school in our household.
Zane & Ellie began on Tuesday.  Cute Ellie off to 4th grade.
Porter & Tanner went back to school today.  Porter is a Junior at Timpview.
Tanner is an 8th grader at Centennial.

Leave it to me to wait until the last possible moment to hit up $2 Tuesdays.  But we finally made it to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point.  Max had Tagg for the first time through.
Now, notice Tagg's casted leg!  He is a trooper!  Benson was also with us but wouldn't pose for a picture.
After lunch group #2 went into the museum so Max had Cooper & Hudson!
They loved jumping on the scale to see how much they weighed.
Another shark picture, they love that shark.
For some reason they loved this room with skeletons trying to take down a mammoth.  It was a fun day, thanks to the other moms who joined us too!

I love where we live!  I have seen all sorts of cool wildlife but this one we want to have return!  This owl was perched on our light outside of our bedroom all day yesterday trying to catch some ZZZs.  Too bad he is not back today, perhaps we were too noisy (not us?)!

His morning present, everyone fresh out of (or in) bed before the oldest boys head out the door.
He played all day long with his fire engine!
Only appropriate that he had a fire hydrant cake!  He can spot them from miles away on our bike rides, walks and even in the car.
Eating some cake with Tanner.  I love that face Max!
His other big love,  Thomas, yay!
Cute cousins on the tramp together, Molly & Max.
Max & William wanted to be caught in action.  Fun day, we love having Max in our family!

Luckily Zane's birthday fell on a Saturday so that we could fit in something fun.  After his football game we headed up the canyon.  Brenton, Curtis, Michael & Zane are waiting to zipline in Provo Canyon.
 Here they are gearing up!
 Now they are ready.
Off they go with their guide and group.
If you can pick out the white spot, that is one of Zane on an upper line (good luck)!  But the trees were changing and the evening was gorgeous.
Zane coming in at the end!   I think they had a grand time and Max had fun digging in the dirt waiting for them.
We had pizza & ice cream at home and he missed blowing out the 2 candles for his 15th, what if I had done all 15?
His Golden Birthday with his 15 presents!  Some of them were very small & the ziplining counted as 4!

Porter's Homecoming Date

Porter dropped by his date's house a few days before Homecoming & her dad answered the door with his shot gun!  So Porter went to pick up Jessie carrying his Red Rider BB Gun!  So funny!
Cute Jessie & Porter!  Porter went to his first official dance with Jessie last weekend.  They had a great time and are still friends even after the day date, dance & after party, something like 10 hours together.  It's a good thing they have known each for a long time.
This is my favorite one.  They are good friends and have fun together, so this less formal picture is the one I like.

Yesterday Mark, Zane & Tanner were on a campout and Porter was at work so we decided to head to the mountains.  I just had to see the colors.
 We picked the perfect day.
 What an amazing boy!
 What a gorgeous girl!
Could you ask for anything more picturesque?
Around every bend was another fantastic view.
May you always follow the spunky girl that I did yesterday!
We started our hike at the Sundance Stables and followed the route the horses take, we were not disappointed.
A big group passed us on horseback and I think that Ellie has officially decided what she wants to do sometime soon!

Max shows off Tigger at the Riverwoods Chalk Art Festival!  We went not once, not twice but 4 times!  It was fantastic!
We loved the puzzle aspect of this one!  On Sunday when we took the boys & dad to see them, after the festival was officially over, this one had unfortunately been graffittied by a "Zane" right in the middle of the sun.  We are making it clear that it wasn't our Zane!
This was one of the professionals brought in,
 This was another.
We thought of our Dutch Heritage & Grammy!
If you can see, this artist was named Ellie(our Ellie is sitting by her name) and she drew Max the horse.
An artist at work.  There were quite a few Disney themed.
We were inspired and picked our own spot to draw.
 Ellie on day 1.
Unfortunately they were erased so she started again.  This was  Ellie's on Day 2.
Max and the happy faces!

A BIG WINNER!

This year during bike to school week Ellie declared, " I am going to bike to school everyday this week so that I will win the bike they are giving away because I hate my bike!"  I told her that was a fantastic idea and wished her good luck!  Well wouldn't you know, she won!
Here is her fabulous new bike!  It pays to think positive!  And we found out the reason she hated her old bike was because it was pink!

The leopard car Ellie & Libby drove
A fire hydrant at the Montage!

The matching girls, Lexi & Grammy.
Freezing Rachel cuddling with older brother Marky.
 Bec with her cute girls!
 My fantastic parents!
A discussion with Pops about the history of a particular rock, yada yada!  Maybe Tanner was showing his domino rock he found, I just find the picture priceless.  Who wouldn't love to remember their grandpas lectures?

This year for Halloween we actually expected Trick or Treaters.  Every other year we have had a Trunk or Treat at our church & then no one comes to the houses, but it was replaced with our party last week & so we anticipated a large showing.  The boys decided to scare all those who braved the path to our house through the woods!  They were stealth in their stalking & truly sent more than a few away with the scare of the night!  It was all in fun & we hope that no one is scarred!
These are my Trick or Treaters heading down our street for one of the warmest, best Halloweens ever!
